I chose to study Oriental Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in San Diego after obtaining my Massage Therapist training at National Holistic Institute. My studies focused on the Japanese Meridian style of acupuncture- a very gentle style I was originally drawn to because of my own fear of needles! During my training I had the good fortune to complete three rotations at the San Diego Hospice and the Institute for Palliative Medicine’s Inpatient Care Center and become a level 1 Reiki Practitioner. I returned to Northern California after obtaining my Master's degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine where I began my private practice, worked with Quan Yin Healing Arts Center providing community acupuncture to supportive housing residents, and began my nursing education. I now work as an RN and provide acupuncture house-call services in and around San Francisco.
Within the scope of practice of a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of California I provide acupuncture, acupressure and massage and offer guidance on nutrition, herbal formulations and supplements, lifestyle modification, and movement/body mechanics. As a Registered Nurse I bring my background in "western' medicine to my holistic practice. Blending my "eastern" and "western" training gives me a unique perspective of health and wellness and the confidence to work with your health care team.
