Tamsen Staniford, L.Ac., RN
Motivated by a life long passion for medicine, health and wellness, I chose to study Oriental Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California. PCOM is well known for its rigorous training program emphasizing science, herbal medicine, and integrative care. My studies also focused on the Japanese Meridian style of acupuncture in the traditions of Ikeda Masakazu Sensei and Shuddo Denmei Sensei. During my training I completed three rotations at the San Diego Hospice and the Institute for Palliative Medicine’s Inpatient Care Center. After receiving a graduate degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine I returned to Northern California where I began my private practice and worked with Quan Yin Healing Arts Center providing community acupuncture to supportive housing residents. I choose to focus my continuing education on disease prevention, palliative care, integrative medicine, and nutrition. Previously, I trained in massage therapy and bodywork at the National Holistic Institute. I am also a level 1 Reiki Practitioner and a Registered Nurse.
